The fourth in a series of films for Samsung x CNN. This film is a result of a transformative trip I took to Paraguay in late 2023 to film with a pair of students who are inventing ways to confront the country’s lack of potable water, especially in rural populations.
It was a jarring and humbling experience to witness the issues people are confronting on a daily and fundamental basis. But I was granted a glimpse into beautiful communities that are tapping into resilience despite the circumstances, and in turn empowering the next generation to solve problems we may not have answers for today.
Still, the dialogue can be so much louder, and the systems of infrastructure so much better. And Diego and Jazmín are channeling that in their efforts to provide portable and repeatable solutions for water filtration; one household at a time.
Grateful to those who invited us into their spaces to capture their lives, and to the creative teams across a few continents that came together to tell this story.
