In the summer of 2025, Jordan Brand approached Complex with a challenge: to find a unique way to tell the stories of their next generation of rising stars.
To differentiate the content from our standard interview formats, we developed a net new series called “Snapshot.” The idea was to peek into the offseason lives of athletes and reveal who they are outside the field of play. Think MTV’s "My Block" meets CBS’s "60 Minutes."
We teamed up with director Dan Hall (aka Decatur Dan) who I met virtually during COVID and we stayed in touch, played a lot of tennis, but never found the right opportunity to collaborate. This was the time.
He brought in his company Where It's Greater and scaled up shoots in Gainesville with DJ Lagway, Seattle with Paolo Banchero, and London with Zeb Powell.
