At the heart of The Body Shop’s 2021 relaunch in the Japanese market was one message: 

Rise Up With Self Love. 

A radical phrase of empowerment, this tagline represented how the brand’s ambassadors, Mila Hasegawa and Kemio, loudly and unapologetically live their lives. To bring the message to life, I teamed with The Body Shop’s agency — AKQA Tokyo — to capture candid films that explored and amplified the personalities of each talent. 

We shot Mila’s story on a sun-drenched day in Setagaya, with a pitstop at a local laundromat. The videos and photos were then rolled out on digital/social and at The Body Shop locations throughout Tokyo.
