When Adidas Tokyo approached Push Media for a strategy to deliver a heartwarming campaign centered around year-end gift-giving, I joined in as creative director to build a narrative around “the light that emerges from dark,” or the power of reconnecting with loved ones after a difficult year. We brought in the incredible fashion film director Umi Ishihara and portrait photographer Houmi Sakata, and shot for three days with three of Adidas’ world-class athlete partners - Yoshikazu Fujita, Monica Okoye and Miho Nonaka - and their loved ones. In the end, we were able to capture a holistic, feel-good campaign led by an anthem film and supported by accompanying portraits, all rolled out via paid media, brand socials and on an e-commerce microsite.
